Family Fun for Everyone at the Second Annual New York Tennis Expo’s Activity Zone and Kids Zone

New York Tennis Magazine and Long Island Tennis Magazine have assembled a full day of activities and fun for kids and adults at the Second Annual New York Tennis Expo, set for Sunday, June 1 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. Doors for the event will open at 10:30 a.m., and the event will run through 4:30 p.m and admission and all activities are FREE.

 

 

 

New York Tennis Expo Activity Zone 
1st Floor (Indoor Courts) 

►Beat the College Player Challenge, presented by the St. John’s University Men’s Tennis Teams: Come get a chance to play on one on the National Tennis Center’s indoor courts and take on an elite group of players from the St. John’s University Men’s Tennis Teams. Win points and great prizes taking on the Big East Conference Champions, St. John’s University!

►Speed Serve Booth/Dartfish Station, presented by Sportime/John McEnroe Tennis: Step up to the baseline and give it your best shot. We will have a radar gun so you can see how fast you are hitting those big serves. Serves will be analyzed by top Sportime pros, and a video will be shown using Dartfish technology. Kids will have a chance to meet Sportime mascot Tennis the Menace.

►10 & Under Tennis, presented by IMG Academy featuring Nick Bollietieri, and the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center: Top pros from the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center will instruct kids throughout the day, along with having open play opportunities as well. World-renowned coach Nick Bollietieri will make scheduled appearances to teach the kids as well. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn from the best in the business as Nick has coached Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, Jim Courier, the Williams Sisters and many more!

►Hit for Prizes Court, presented by Holabird Sports, Boast and Bolt: Attendees will have the opportunity to demo rackets and take a few forehands and backhands at targets for a chance to win fantastic prizes. The Hit for Prizes Court will be presented by the following: Holabird Sports (10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.), Boast (1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.) and Bolt Sports (3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.).

►DJ Curtis McCalla: DJ Curtis McCalla of Sportime will keep everyone entertained with great music and energy throughout the day.

Location of following activities 
Outside of the Main Lobby 

►Inflatable Hockey Shoot-Out, presented by the New York Islanders: Come join the Ice Tour Crew, including Sparky the Mascot and the NY Islander Ice Girls, and try to score on the inflatable goalie to win prizes.

►Carnival Area, presented by New York Tennis Magazine: Take your chances with some standard carnival booth games and win tickets for complimentary snow cones and popcorn. The Carnival Area will also feature face painting, balloon animals, glitter tattoos and two courts of mini-tennis.

Deck Outside of Courts 
►Outdoor Parent/Child Deck Area, presented by the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center: Parents and children will get to play together on two 60' sport courts, and three 36' sport courts set up for open play outside on top of the deck.

Entrance Lobby 
►Registration for Tours of Arthur Ashe Stadium Court:
 Don't miss your chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at Arthur Ashe Stadium Court and the U.S. Open locker room area. A small fee will be charged in order to take this tour.

►Prizes, Raffles & Giveaways: Throughout the event, there will be prizes, raffles and giveaways all day long. All you have to do to win is be present at the Second Annual New York Tennis Expo! Some of the prizes include:

Outdoor Courts
►The Unified Games (part of The Special Olympics), presented by Bethpage Park Tennis Center: 
Continuing with the theme of making sure there is something for everyone at this great event, we have partnered with the Unified Games for the season ending tournament. This tournament represents the culmination of a broader instructional, mentorship and practice program pairing local area high school varsity and tournament players with intellectually challenged athletes. Come cheer on all the competitors.
