Tottenville, Curtis Win To Remain Unbeaten

The Tottenville Pirates and Curtis Warriors each won their respective matches on Thursday afternoon to remain undefeated atop the League A4 standings.

Tottenville took on Port Richmond and its singles players delivered a fantastic performance. Paulina Daugis led the way with a 10-3 win over Jacinda Kissi at first singles, and Alexia Adragna and Karina Karazhbey followed suit.

Adragna defeated Hadiyah Ali 10-0 at second singles and Karazhbey knocked off Jacqueline Navarro 10-1 at third singles to seal the Pirates victory.

Tottenville will visist CSIHS/McCown in its next match on Friday.

Curtis moved to 2-0 on the season as well on Thursday, edging New Dorp 3-2.

This match was extremely close as both teams traded blows back and forth. Brianna Shaw edged Simone Fridman to give Curtis the victory at first singles, but New Dorp’s Tamar Amirov knocked off Julia Holtermann 11-9 to keep New Dorp close.

Jamilla Pillarella gave Curtis a big win at third singles with a 10-4 triumph over Xinru Wang. Needing just one more victory, the second doubles team of Alaina Hinkley and Queenie Adams won 11-9 to ensure the Warriors win.

Curtis’ next match will be on the road against Tottenville on Monday afternoon.
