Brooklyn Tech, Bronx Science Win To Stay Perfect

The Brooklyn Tech Engineers and Bronx Science Wolverines both won their respective matches on Thursday afternoon to improve to 5-0 in the fall season.

Bronx Science took on Beacon in matchup between the two top teams in New York City’s A3 division, and was able to sneak out a 3-2 victory thanks to its singles play.

The Wolverines were led by its two top singles players, Perene Wang and Christina Huynh, who each won their respective singles’ matches. Wang knocked off Victoria Sec 10-3 at first singles, while Huynh defeated Aleksandra Bekirova 10-8 at second singles to push Bronx Science to the victory.

Brooklyn Tech defeated Leon Goldstein 4-1, and were also led by its singles play, receiving wins from all three singles flights without dropping a game.

Chelsea Williams anchored the win with a 10-0 victory over Rebecca Macdonald, and Nicole Semenov and Alina Abramoff each won at second and third singles, respectively, to earn the Engineers fifth win of the season.
