The Queens College men’s tennis team captured the East Coast Conference (ECC) Championship on Saturday, downing four-time defending champions New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) 5-1 for its first conference title since 2012.

As a result, the Knights will enter the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championships as the top-seed in East Region. It receives a first-round bye and will take on the winner of Southern New Hampshire and Post, who play this Saturday.

Southern New Hampshire won the Northeast-10 Conference for a second straight season and boasts a 16-6 overall record, while Post were the runner-ups in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championships, finishing the regular season with a 12-9 record.

Queens defeated Post earlier this year, but did not play Southern New Hampshire this season.

Queens enters the tournament on a six-match winning streak.
