CityParks 2012 Corporate Tennis League to Begin in April

Experience the highly anticipated CityParks Corporate Tennis League with your co-workers, as it returns for another season to provide tennis to underprivileged youth beginning in April. The eight-week season begins Friday, April 26 and features weekly co-ed team tennis matches that are scheduled after work hours. Previous participants include co-ed teams from HBO, Deloitte, Marsh & McLennan, TD Waterhouse, Barclays Capital, and ING.

The competition is in team tennis format features a minimum of four players (two men and two women) and a maximum of 10 players per team. Teams will play once a week, and match play consists of five “no-ad” sets, one set each of men’s and women’s singles and doubles, and one set of mixed-doubles. A tennis party and awards ceremony is held for all players at the end of the season.

All proceeds from the event will benefit CityParks Foundation in providing free tennis instruction to underprivileged youth, and company donations are 80 percent tax-deductible.

Indoor games will be played at CityView Racquet Club, and outdoor matches are held at the Central Park Tennis Center.
